    Dennis Brown is one of the founding members of the 901 Artist's Co-op, which is based in the Port-side Studios, at 150 McLean Drive Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. (Northeast Corner of Powell and McLean.) The Co-op emerged as part of a lengthy campaign by a number of visual artists, formerly based at 901 Main Street, in Vancouver, to save their studio space from falling victim to urban redevelopment. The effort to save 901 Main Street was not successful, nevertheless the campaign did bring the issue of declining studio space for artists in Vancouver to public attention. In the process a unique artist's co-operative was formed, and a vibrant new studio was established near Vancouver's industrial waterfront.
